Jenna Luedecke Designs

Jenn from Mountain View Quilter made this gorgeous test version of the Stella Star.

Hello Sweet Friends! I would like to introduce you to my friend Jenna of Jenna Luedecke Designs. She is a pattern maker and just released her new pattern Stella Star! It is a beginner friendly pattern for Foundation Paper Piecing. If you have never done it before now is a great time to learn! In fact she is getting ready to start her Stella Star Quilt A Long. I joined it. I’ve been wanting to learn how to paper piece for a long time. I’ve looked over the pattern and it completely looks doable for us newbies! Jenna also makes stunning quilts that I have had the opportunity to work on!

This is one of her quilts I worked on. The fabrics are from the Rifle Paper Co. Their fabric is so drool worthy and if money was no option I would have it all. Just check out that backing. We used the edge to edge Baptist Fans by Three Sisters Fabric. I think it turned out beautiful!

This is another one of Jenna’s that I worked on. The pattern is called Heart2Heart and it is by LaFortuna Designs, it is a new pattern coming out and you can watch her Etsy for the release. We used the edge to edge by Karlee Porter Designs called Mexican Tile 2. I love how this turned out! Perfect. I was a little skeptical at first but once I started I knew this was the best edge to edge for this pattern. Her colors are gorgeous. This quilt is beautiful wouldn’t you agree?

Well it is Thursday friends. We have almost made it to another weekend. It is crazy how fast the weeks are flying by. I wish they would slow down. I have so much I want to do, need to do, want to read, and want to paint. There is just now enough of me to get around and this week my neck and back have no been cooperating with me. Phew!

I hope you all have a great day!

Steep Rock Quilt

Hello Friends! Happy Monday! AS I write this Sunday night! We are anxiouslly waiting to head to Louisville in the morning to pick up our Airman and get him home for a few days! Praying that the weather holds out and it’s just rain!

I had the opportunity to work on The Steep Rock Quilt this past week. I had done one a few weeks ago for a baby gift. I was so excited to get my Longarm jobs done and had some extra time to make one in the twin size! And of course in my favorite rainbow colors!

This quilt pattern comes together really fast!! I do have one block going the wrong way! But if you read my post on Instagram about how in the older days they intentionally left a mistake in every quilt to remind them that only God was perfect. So I decided to leave!

I used this owl backing in a very pretty blue. I did not have enough of it to do the whole backing so I pieced a rainbow through it. But……..I still ended the longarming with only one inch of fabric to work with. I say that was cutting it close! Geez!

This quilt pattern is by Erin at The Blanket Statement. She found out right before Christmas that she had cervical cancer and actually had surgery on December 24th, Christmas Eve. I’ve been trying to get everyone to check out the patterns on her website and pick up a pdf pattern to help support her and her family. So, if you could please do! And I will be so happy for her and a big thank you from me! We after all should stick together. Life is better together!

Dayton No. 1 Quilt

Hello! We have had a busy summer here, but now it’s back to school and back to work for all. This is one of the quilts we did for an upcoming quilt show. The quilt pattern is by Heather Jones and is called Dayton No. 1. You can get the pattern here in her book Quilt Local.

For the stitching we’ve used one of Karlee Porter’s edge to edge designs called Retro Tile #11. We love how the curves in the stitching add such a fun texture to straight lines in this piece. It also brings a touch of drama to the negative space on the quilt.

We also wanted to let everyone know that we are at about a week out on Longarm Quilting. So if you are wanting your quilt top done and back fast now is a great time! With our shows coming up over the next three months we will be quite busy and the wait time will be longer.

Thank you for stopping by! Make sure to sign up for our email list to be kept in the loop with any changes going on.

Have a great day!

Hiring a Longarm Quilter

Hiring a longarm quilter can be a daunting task. You’ve spent hours on your quilt top working so hard to get it just perfect. Sending it in the mail to someone you’ve never met can be scary! I know. I was once like you. Trying to find the perfect longarm quilter, one who I hoped would view my quilt top as a piece of art that I worked very hard on making. One who would take their time to make sure that the design and the quilt top match. One who would listen to my concerns and give me that feeling of assurance that my quilt top would be in good hands.

Here at Lavender Fields Blankets we not only understand your concerns. We want to work with you to overcome that fear, and to help you choose a design that works best for your quilt top. When you agree to work with us we immediately begin to work on making a relationship with you to help you feel at ease. When it is time to load your quilt top on the machine we find, based on your likes, 5 pantos from you to choose from. We have found that breaking down to just 5 helps relieve all that confusion of the thousand of designs out there to choose from. We work to communicate with you through text, pictures, and/or video to come up with a design that you love!

WE never start on your quilt top until you are happy and secure with the design. Not only is the design important but also the density. Some clients like their quilts very dense. Some in between dense and what I call light dense. Heavy density takes longer as we slow the machine down just to make sure it takes all those curves and stitches slowly and perfectly. I find that this is a very important step. I would rather take the time to be at the Longarm longer and get a perfect stitch than to rush a job.

We love our clients and we love your quilt tops as much as I love mine. Your quilt will always be sent back to you wrapped in plastic to protect it and a tracking number to track it. You can trust us we will be tracking it too!

We know here at Lavender Fields Blankets that your quilt is your piece of art that you are creating to put out in the world. Rather you sell it or you use it as a family heirloom to be passed down thru generations we want you to know that we understand just how important and loved this quilt is and will be. I am first a quilt maker myself. My quilts each speak something about me at that specific time in my life. We know yours do too!

We want you to know that working with us that communications is very important in the process of your quilting service. That is why you will have access to our cell phones and can communicate with us through call at our normal business hours or through text after hours!

WE look forward to working with you!

Until next time!
