I worked on this client quilt this week. It came all the way from Canada. Our first out of country quilt!
It’s very beautiful in colors of cream and beige on the front and a sweet pattern fabric on the back. The pattern is the Deco quilt pattern from Lo and Behold Stitchery. Definitely a beautiful pattern that I would love to make.
The client picked out Clam Glam Deco edge to edge design by Karlee Porter Designs. This was such an easy edge to edge to work with. They clicked right up in place and I never had any issue when I forwarded the quilt. I am definitely going to be using it on my quilt top that is waiting to be quilted.
We’ve had the best time here with our Airman being home. The time has flown as it always does. I heard a saying the other day in one of my books. The days are long but the years are short. Isn’t that the truth!
I’m going to be starting a quilt this week for a daughter who lost her dad. We are using his Hawaiian style shirts and she’s picked out the Joy Pattern.
This is a free pattern on the AGF website. I had a client use the pattern and I can’t wait to see how it is going to turn out. I love being able to make quilts. I don’t usually have time to work on too many myself so this will be a nice day on Thursday to cut this out and get it pieced!
What are you working on? Any plans for an end of summer trip? I’m hoping that me and Mark can get away to Lake Erie or somewhere where there is water! It would be nice if the borders would open so we could go into Canada.
It’s early morning here where I am so I am off to get another cup of coffee and get to work! Have a great day!
Hello friends! I wanted to share these two beauties that Martha sent in to have LongArm quilted.
First this beautiful red florals of Kaffee Fassett fabrics are so striking. We decided it would be fun to use a hot pink thread color! This was a Christmas inspired quilt that Martha made for herself. I just love getting quilts with such vivid colors.
Martha also sent in this beautiful turquoise, blue, and green colored batiks quilt. It was a lot of fun too.
Batiks are a thicker fabric that some have trouble sewing with. I always use a new needle size 18 and I’ve never had any problems with them.
Both quilts stitched out perfectly and I added binding to both and they are heading back home on Monday!
We are getting busier with summer just around the corner. We are participating in several quilt alongs that you can find the information on them on our Instagram.
We have a big project being released in July and working on several commissions. We do take special quilt order requests for weddings and such. If your wanting to schedule a consultation for a commission piece please reach out via our contact form. We would love working with you!
If you are wanting to get your quilt top quilted please send in a request to be put on the calendar. We have a full schedule ongoing but turn around time is right at 3-4 weeks. We try very hard to stay on schedule and we can’t wait to work with you!
Hiring a longarm quilter can be a daunting task. You’ve spent hours on your quilt top working so hard to get it just perfect. Sending it in the mail to someone you’ve never met can be scary! I know. I was once like you. Trying to find the perfect longarm quilter, one who I hoped would view my quilt top as a piece of art that I worked very hard on making. One who would take their time to make sure that the design and the quilt top match. One who would listen to my concerns and give me that feeling of assurance that my quilt top would be in good hands.
Here at Lavender Fields Blankets we not only understand your concerns. We want to work with you to overcome that fear, and to help you choose a design that works best for your quilt top. When you agree to work with us we immediately begin to work on making a relationship with you to help you feel at ease. When it is time to load your quilt top on the machine we find, based on your likes, 5 pantos from you to choose from. We have found that breaking down to just 5 helps relieve all that confusion of the thousand of designs out there to choose from. We work to communicate with you through text, pictures, and/or video to come up with a design that you love!
WE never start on your quilt top until you are happy and secure with the design. Not only is the design important but also the density. Some clients like their quilts very dense. Some in between dense and what I call light dense. Heavy density takes longer as we slow the machine down just to make sure it takes all those curves and stitches slowly and perfectly. I find that this is a very important step. I would rather take the time to be at the Longarm longer and get a perfect stitch than to rush a job.
We love our clients and we love your quilt tops as much as I love mine. Your quilt will always be sent back to you wrapped in plastic to protect it and a tracking number to track it. You can trust us we will be tracking it too!
We know here at Lavender Fields Blankets that your quilt is your piece of art that you are creating to put out in the world. Rather you sell it or you use it as a family heirloom to be passed down thru generations we want you to know that we understand just how important and loved this quilt is and will be. I am first a quilt maker myself. My quilts each speak something about me at that specific time in my life. We know yours do too!
We want you to know that working with us that communications is very important in the process of your quilting service. That is why you will have access to our cell phones and can communicate with us through call at our normal business hours or through text after hours!
WE look forward to working with you!
Until next time!
