New work!

Hello Friends!

Hope you are doing great. We’ve been preparing for summer. Yes! And working on a lot of beautiful quilts! This purple is the backing of a t-shirt quilt that was sent in. She chose Cake Walk as the edge to edge design. It’s perfect for holding those t-shirts in place!

My friend Janice pieced this quilt. I love the color so much. I think it has a vintage feel to it! We used Keryn’s Chevron on it! This edge to edge is so unique and pretty.

This is a quilt that I pieced for a test pattern! I’m loving the colors and texture on this one so much! I used 60’s Mod Butterflies as the edge to edge and it just really pops! Such a great pattern also.

Client quilt that came in. We used Swirly Gig 1 on it and geez I love it so much! So much texture! If you know me you know green is my favorite color so this one was fun! I added the binding to this one per client request.

This client seen the green quilt with the Swirly Gig 1 and decided she wanted to switch to it too!! It just makes the quilt pop I think!

This quilt sent in is the Voyage Pattern by Suzy Quilts. The soft colors were so good! The client chose Loopy Leaf as the edge to edge. I think it turned out perfect!!

Well we hope you have a great day filled with lots of fun and love!

Picnic in the Park Quilt

Saturday is my most favorite day. We rest. We love. We eat. Today on the forecast is rain. So today we really rest.

I worked on this client quilt this week. The pattern is called Picnic In The Park. It is so beautiful and I can just imagine actually taking a picnic with this quilt. I definitely want to make one myself!

We used Baptist Fans on it with white thread. I added binding to it sent in with the quilt. Pretty black with white polka dots! Perfect for this colorful quilt!

I hope you have a great Saturday doing some pampering and resting! Filled with love and peace!

Texture!!

I love it when my client wants some really good texture. We choose the edge to edge Compass and we got that texture. We used a pretty beige colored thread. It just pops on this navy blue backing.

I have a lot of people ask me about the different density for quilting. This quilt is definitely dense quilting. With dense quilting your going to get a heavier stiff blanket. But once it’s washed your going to get some great crinkling.

It’s a raining day and cooler here. They are talking snow this week. We are not looking forward to that since we’ve had some very warm spring days already. But it is what it is!

Have a great day!

Fun client quilts!

Hello Friends! It’s Friday!!! I’m sending these two quilt back out to their owners today!!!

We used Modern Curves on both of them and I just love all the texture. The fabrics and the colors! So pretty.

Friday here is a no work zone. But a maintenance zone. I’ll be cleaning up the studio. Cleaning the machines and oiling them. I have a few stacks of fat quarters I want to get organized. I have some really small scraps that I want to start cutting down to 2.5 inch squares to do a patch work quilt. I still can’t hardly cut yet so that will have to wait!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Snowman Client Quilt

Hello Friends!

We’re back up and running. Arm is still broken but I am getting less pain with it and a tiny bit mobility. Catherine is loading quilts for me and I finish them up. We worked on this colorful snowman quilt yesterday. The client picked the famous Midnight Sparkle for the edge to edge. So dang cute!

It felt really great being back working but I did have some anxiety. I mean what would life be like with no anxiety!

I don’t like to talk politics, religion, or anything like that. But I do have to say this change of power has me worried. I’m so thankful to be living in a small rural town!

Take it easy my dear friends! What are you working on this week? Whatever you do do it in love!

Meadowland Quilt

Good morning friends! We survived our show this weekend and we are going to be working on a quilt top today, resting some, and watching some football!

I pieced this Meadowland myself. I love all the gold tones and fall colors. It’s my favorite time of the year as I really love the color orange right now! I got the bundle of fabric from Southern Charm Quilts and it was just the perfect match of fabrics. She has lots of fabric and some really cool patterns. January I want to make her Anthology quilt!

We are also super excited to be working on Suzy’s quilt top from Suzy Quilts. It’s from her Shine sew along and I can’t wait to get it on the LongArm!!

We also have 3 tshirt quilts and 5 full quilt finishes to get done by Christmas so with that being said our cut off for Christmas delivery is November 15. After that I can’t promise I will get the quilts back but I sure as heck will try!

All well workshop has a beautiful pattern for quilted coats and we will be working on these for our next fall show. We will have a long and short version. I’m super excited about that! I want one for myself so bad that I can’t wait to get started on them! Do you prefer shirt or long?

Well I am off of here now. Must pickup and cleanup the house from being gone all weekend. We hope you have a great Sunday!

Client Quilt #336

I’ve been busy the last couple weeks! So I thought I would post some great quilt tops I’ve been working on.

I worked on this beauty that came from Louisiana last week. Mary wanted medium dense quilting with Baptist Fans. She needed this quilt back fast as it was for a sick relative. So we worked extra to get it done and right back out to her!

We are getting close to the holidays! With Covid and the Elections I can not even stand to watch TV or check the news. We could use some good news. So. Number one is for me Halloween! I am looking forward to going into my daughters and handing out candy! Hopefully the weather will be dry! We always watch a scary movie and order pizza! Yum!

I hope your doing good and taking care of yourself! I’ve been doing a lot more facials. Oil baths. Painted my toe nails. Anything to make me feel better! I think right now more than ever we need to pay ourselves special attention! If it makes you feel good and takes your mind off of things I say do it!

Colors of Neutral

Yes! It is strange. But I do occasionally make a quilt in neutral colors. And you know what? I love it! It actually exceeded my expectation by a million. The Meadowland Quilt pattern is by Megan at Then Came June. Her patterns are always full of color and so pretty!

I used neutral pattern in black, white, and beige. I used a solid kona cotton color in tan.

Just coming off the Longarm. I longarm quilted it with a pattern from Three Sisters Fabric called Baptist Fan.

The backing is a soft gray pattern and you can really see the edge to edge design on it.

This quilt will add a beautiful touch to any modern home. The colors will actually do well in any decor style with it’s neutral palette. The quilts measures 64 X 80 and is listed on Etsy right here! If you like this quilt I am getting ready to do another one and you can pick out your color scheme, just shoot us an email @ lavenderfieldsblankets@gmail.com or send us a message on the contact page here on the website!

I hope you all are having a good Wednesday and that life is treating you kindly. Around here we are just so grateful for everyday that is good and for everyday that brings challenges. God is good all the time!

Love

Steep Rock Quilt

Hello Friends! Happy Monday! AS I write this Sunday night! We are anxiouslly waiting to head to Louisville in the morning to pick up our Airman and get him home for a few days! Praying that the weather holds out and it’s just rain!

I had the opportunity to work on The Steep Rock Quilt this past week. I had done one a few weeks ago for a baby gift. I was so excited to get my Longarm jobs done and had some extra time to make one in the twin size! And of course in my favorite rainbow colors!

This quilt pattern comes together really fast!! I do have one block going the wrong way! But if you read my post on Instagram about how in the older days they intentionally left a mistake in every quilt to remind them that only God was perfect. So I decided to leave!

I used this owl backing in a very pretty blue. I did not have enough of it to do the whole backing so I pieced a rainbow through it. But……..I still ended the longarming with only one inch of fabric to work with. I say that was cutting it close! Geez!

This quilt pattern is by Erin at The Blanket Statement. She found out right before Christmas that she had cervical cancer and actually had surgery on December 24th, Christmas Eve. I’ve been trying to get everyone to check out the patterns on her website and pick up a pdf pattern to help support her and her family. So, if you could please do! And I will be so happy for her and a big thank you from me! We after all should stick together. Life is better together!
