We’ve been working hard and enjoying the summer here at Lavender Fields. I spent a couple days in Florida and had the best time. It was a much needed refresh. Since then we’ve been working away.
I worked on this beautiful Voyage client quilt. The fabrics were gorgeous and I love the pattern. The pattern designer is Suzy http://www.suzyquilts.com We used the edge to edge Marmalade on it. It is definitely one of my favorite designs. It’s not too dense but gives great texture!
This beautiful quilt was sent in for us to work some magic on. Can we say Tula Pink fabric is just gorgeous and so is this pattern. It is a free pattern on her website. We used the edge to edge design Abacus Squared. This design gives you great texture and is such an easy design to stitch out.
This Vintage Lace using Baptist Fans turned out great. We gave the fans a higher top and I love how it turned out. This is a very versatile edge to edge design. The next quilt shows how you can spread them wider to get a totally different look. The edge to edge is from Three Sisters fabric. It’s the best design out there. It clicks right together and stitches out so perfectly.
Hope you are doing great. We’ve been preparing for summer. Yes! And working on a lot of beautiful quilts! This purple is the backing of a t-shirt quilt that was sent in. She chose Cake Walk as the edge to edge design. It’s perfect for holding those t-shirts in place!
My friend Janice pieced this quilt. I love the color so much. I think it has a vintage feel to it! We used Keryn’s Chevron on it! This edge to edge is so unique and pretty.
This is a quilt that I pieced for a test pattern! I’m loving the colors and texture on this one so much! I used 60’s Mod Butterflies as the edge to edge and it just really pops! Such a great pattern also.
Client quilt that came in. We used Swirly Gig 1 on it and geez I love it so much! So much texture! If you know me you know green is my favorite color so this one was fun! I added the binding to this one per client request.
This client seen the green quilt with the Swirly Gig 1 and decided she wanted to switch to it too!! It just makes the quilt pop I think!
This quilt sent in is the Voyage Pattern by Suzy Quilts. The soft colors were so good! The client chose Loopy Leaf as the edge to edge. I think it turned out perfect!!
Well we hope you have a great day filled with lots of fun and love!
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve updated here. We received our last Covid shot on Friday and it really hit us over the next few days! I was mail just so dizzy and weak. Feeling better today! I did get some work done and thought I would share!
As you can see I’ve been having fun working on some very beautiful quilts! I love the process. From opening the box, ironing if needed, seeing a flimsy quilt top turn into a nice quilt! It’s the most exciting time!
We trim most of our quilts before they leave here. It’s the clients choice. So you can get it back and it’s ready for binding. Some clients want their quilts binded too so they get back a completely done quilt! How fun right!!!
That being all said I’m having my first cup of coffee here. It’s pretty early in Southern Indiana and our temps have been below normal. I’m waiting for that heat and sunshine so bad! I know it’s only May but usually by now we’re having some pretty warm days. How’s your weather where you are at?
I’m hoping you are doing good. I’m off here to get started pretty soon. I have two quilts to finish up today. I can’t wait to show you!
Carolyn sent in this one and her fabrics were beautiful and she picked Baptist Fans for her Longarm edge to edge design. It turned out so much fun!
In fact if your reading this you can get 20% off any quilt using the Baptist Fans edge to edge pattern. Just put on your request form Baptistfans20!! This edge to edge stitches out so beautiful and easy.
Hope your Tuesday night is the best! I’m so tired I’m ready for bed. Our dog has been waking us up in the middle of the night freaking out scared. We can’t figure out what her problem is but it’s really messing with our sleep! Tonight early bedtime!
I’m doing ok! Still broken arm but getting a lot more use out of it. Hoping that’s not a bad thing. I go back to the doctor on Tuesday and hopefully will see a lot of healing! 🙏
I wanted to tell you about Suzy Quilts sew along with her new pattern Gather!
I was so thankful that I went a head and did mine early. There is no way I can cut out a quilt right now, but I can LongArm still!
So here’s mine all ready for the LongArm. I used all Kona Cotton solids with some Rifle Paper Co prints on the front and for the back! Can’t wait to get it done!! You should follow the link up above on the first picture and sign up! She’s offering great prizes and we are sponsoring one week with a free LongArm quilting! Yah!
So honestly things are still moving slow here with my arm but I did get a few Longarms done, including binding this week. Albeit with lots more breaks in between!
Any how I can’t wait to see all the pretty gather quilts, if your going to do the sew along let me know!!!
It’s me again. Typing one handed but I just had to get this beauty on the blog! Isn’t this Shine Quilt beautiful? My client made this for her granddaughter. We used a variegated thread with colors of orange, pink, and yellows! We used Midnight Sparkle as the edge to edge.
We are also now taking LongArm Quilt requests for February and March. It will fill up fast so get your request in!!
Are you getting ready for the big meal tomorrow? I’ve got a few more things I need to pick up then it’s go time tomorrow. We’re doing a late dinner here as some coming tomorrow have earlier commitments. I like it at dinner time. I won’t have to rush so much!
I got to work on this beautiful Quilt this week. It is the Grow pattern by Suzy Quilts. I loved working on it. It was adorable. We used the edge to edge design called Fort on it. This one is definitely one of my favorites! Karmia won this quilting in the Sew Along for the Shine quilt. We were one of the sponsors for it. Suzy is getting ready to do another one on her new pattern Gather and we will be a part of that one too! Super excited about that!
I took the day off to clean house and get ready for tomorrow but I think I might sneak up there and cut out a quilt. I haven’t done one of my own in a bit so I’m super wanting too! Now just to pick which one!!
It’s a rainy dreary day here again in Southern Indiana. That’s been our winter the last few years. We don’t get much snow anymore. I don’t miss dealing with the snow but I do miss seeing it! The beautiful white blanket across the yard!!
I had the opportunity to work on this beautiful Shine quilt that was sent in. It’s just amazing! The colors of the fabrics and the tones are gorgeous. We used a purple blue variegated thread and stitched it with Marmalade. One of my favorite edge to edge designs!
I finished up the binding on it and it will be headed home on Monday! I have three more coming and cannot wait to see them!
I was so hoping for my mental health today to get out of the house and get into the woods. I’ve been stuck in here for a few days and really needed to get away. Maybe we will take a ride. What are some things that you are doing to take care of yourself? When I can’t get out of the house I like to go to our bedroom. The door is always kept shut from the dogs and walking in there is a very peaceful feeling! I turn on my diffuser and the fan on low and read. It helps a lot!
I’ll definitely be working on another quilt this afternoon. We are working very hard to get them all back before Christmas!!
I hope you all have a great week. A great Thanksgiving! I’m trying out some new recipes so hopefully it will all be good. 🤷♀️
I hope today was a good day for you! It was good here. I had the opportunity to work on one of Suzy’s Quilts from Suzy Quilts. It is from her third installment of patterns this year called The Shine quilt. I have to admit I was very nervous to work on it. But I am with all of them. I want to do my very best. Suzy couldn’t decide between Constrained Swirls and Crystalline. She left it up to me to decide! Nerves!
After talking to a good quilty friend we decided on the swirls. I think it turned out beautiful but really the quilt was perfect and anything would have looked beautiful on it.
It was also so nice to talk to Suzy on the phone. She gives great advice for quilting, living, and taking care of yourself as a woman. I have to admit I’ve been working so hard and having so much pain with the weather change I probably had let myself go.
So tonight I colored my hair and hopefully this week will get in for a hair trim! What are you doing to take care of your self? My anxiety is still giving me problems. The elections are over and now we have a new set of leaders starting. Scary. And the pandemic always breathing down our neck. Tight schedules and cooler weather. Just so much!
Take time for yourself! Paint your toe nails. Color your hair. Take that hot bath! Do whatever it is that brings you peace and love!
