Burn Bright Quilt Pattern

Hello Monday!

Unfortunately the this week is the week that is suppose to be the worst for the Corona Virus. I’m praying so hard that after this week we can start getting back to a normal schedule, normal life, and a normal summer. We’ve been very lucky here no one in the family or extended family has gotten sick. I pray it stays that way.

I’ve been using my sewing to keep my mind off of stuff as much as I can. Otherwise it gets too overwhelming. Last week I worked on Modernly Morgan’s new pattern Burn Bright Quilt. It uses big blocks and I really enjoyed working on it. I made the throw size. I think………… it is 61X61. But don’t quote me on that one!

I used pretty colors of teal and blues and a touch of black, all Kona Cotton. The background is a pale blue. I longarmed it with Baptist Fans by Three Sisters Fabric. I love love their edge to edge designs!

Let me know what you think! How are you doing during this crisis? I hope your being safe!

Phase Quilt 2

Hello Friends!

As mentioned in an earlier post I pattern tested this Phase Quilt pattern for Modern Handcraft. I did this one recently in twin size. The colors are a pretty dark blue with shades of gray. I think it came out beautifully. I love it so much that I’m thinking it is going on the bed in the spare bedroom of my house!

I used Urban Elementz Midnight Sparkle edge to edge pattern. It gives the effect of the stars and the sky over the moon phases. For someone who is obsessed with the moon I really love this quilt. What do you think of it?

And more importantly how are you doing? This Virus and what I call House arrest is starting to get to a lot of people. I have my waves that come too of pure anxiety. Listening to the news I get the overwhelming feeling that I am going to get this. So, I try and not listen to the news too much. I try and keep myself busy sewing or reading. I am making sure I get outside too for some fresh air. I think that is really important, especially if you deal with anxiety.

I do hope you are all doing good and we here at Lavender Fields send you all loving vibes!!

Quilts of Valor

Hello Wednesday friends! I hope this finds you doing well. Times have been busy here. We are currently working on quilts, baby quilts with crib bedding and such for our shows this fall! We will be at the Chandelier Barn Market this fall and Christmas! We are so excited!

We’ve had the opportunity this week along with our regular Longarm Quilting to work on this Quilt of Valor! These quilts that come from the Quilts of Valor are donated to a veteran. The quilt maker volunteers her time and the Longarm quilter donates her quilting and batting. We all work together to make a large quilt to be given to the Veteran at a little celebration! It is another way to give back and we are all about that!

We also obtained some old vintage quilted tops. In fact they are handstitched and they are amazing! We are going to be repairing these and quilting them and making quilted coat tops! This is another one of our missions that we are working on. For every 10 quilted coats we sell we will be personally handing out a coat to a homeless person in Indiana. We hope that you will help us with this mission by donating quilt tops for this project! As a quilter and person with a heart for serving and caring for others I believe this will be a good way to give back. IF you would like to personally get involved please send me an email at lavenderfieldsblankets@gmail.com or through our website here on the contact page!

Hand Stitched Quilt tops from Stitch and Found.

We would also love to be able to supply a hat and gloves with these coats. So if you would like to donate those that would be great. We will start handing out the coats this fall for the winter season 2020-2021. We would love to now but it just takes time and resources and those are being used in other areas too. But we should definitely be up and running with the coats this fall!

Well I guess that is about it for now! We are working on two quilt alongs and will have that information for you tomorrow! Have a great day!

Colors of Neutral

Yes! It is strange. But I do occasionally make a quilt in neutral colors. And you know what? I love it! It actually exceeded my expectation by a million. The Meadowland Quilt pattern is by Megan at Then Came June. Her patterns are always full of color and so pretty!

I used neutral pattern in black, white, and beige. I used a solid kona cotton color in tan.

Just coming off the Longarm. I longarm quilted it with a pattern from Three Sisters Fabric called Baptist Fan.

The backing is a soft gray pattern and you can really see the edge to edge design on it.

This quilt will add a beautiful touch to any modern home. The colors will actually do well in any decor style with it’s neutral palette. The quilts measures 64 X 80 and is listed on Etsy right here! If you like this quilt I am getting ready to do another one and you can pick out your color scheme, just shoot us an email @ lavenderfieldsblankets@gmail.com or send us a message on the contact page here on the website!

I hope you all are having a good Wednesday and that life is treating you kindly. Around here we are just so grateful for everyday that is good and for everyday that brings challenges. God is good all the time!

Steep Rock Quilt

Hello Friends! Happy Monday! AS I write this Sunday night! We are anxiouslly waiting to head to Louisville in the morning to pick up our Airman and get him home for a few days! Praying that the weather holds out and it’s just rain!

I had the opportunity to work on The Steep Rock Quilt this past week. I had done one a few weeks ago for a baby gift. I was so excited to get my Longarm jobs done and had some extra time to make one in the twin size! And of course in my favorite rainbow colors!

This quilt pattern comes together really fast!! I do have one block going the wrong way! But if you read my post on Instagram about how in the older days they intentionally left a mistake in every quilt to remind them that only God was perfect. So I decided to leave!

I used this owl backing in a very pretty blue. I did not have enough of it to do the whole backing so I pieced a rainbow through it. But……..I still ended the longarming with only one inch of fabric to work with. I say that was cutting it close! Geez!

This quilt pattern is by Erin at The Blanket Statement. She found out right before Christmas that she had cervical cancer and actually had surgery on December 24th, Christmas Eve. I’ve been trying to get everyone to check out the patterns on her website and pick up a pdf pattern to help support her and her family. So, if you could please do! And I will be so happy for her and a big thank you from me! We after all should stick together. Life is better together!

Quilts of Valor

Hello Monday again!

It seems the time is flying by. Anyone else feel that way? I have so many things I need to do. So many things I want to do that I’m just kind of stuck!

So this morning I am making me two to do lists. One for the house and life. One for quilting. I have always been a firm believer in lists but for some reason I’ve gotten away from it lately and that feeling of being overwhelmed and scattered is driving me crazy! What do you do to keep yourself on track?

I had the privilege of working on this Quilt of Valor. If you haven’t heard of the organization it is a great one! You rather volunteer to make the quilt top and backing or you volunteer to Long Arm the quilt. Then when it is finished it is donated to a Veteran. The organization is very dear and near to my heart as we have a lot of Veterans in our family including me. We also have a son who serves in the Air Force right now.

Everyone loves quilts. Giving one to a veteran is a way to recognize them and let them know that as quilters we surround them with love and gratefulness for the sacrifices! Even if you didn’t serve during war time you sacrificed your life and your time to training and keeping the military ready in case of war.

This quilt will be going to a Marine Veteran. It is made with love and respect. And a hope that it will bring them comfort and keeps them warm, and lets them know that as quilters we love them and are very grateful!

Do you quilt or Long Arm? Could you help? You can find out all the information about it on their website here. You can donate how ever much you want. I do 4 Long Arms a month. IF you want to do one quilt a month that would be great! As a quilter you provide the quilt top and backing. The long armer provides the batting and the quilting. She then sends the quilted quilt back to the maker who then binds it and donates it! If your looking for a way to volunteer in 2020 you might want to consider this! Let’s wrap all our veterans in quilts!

This quilt was quilted with the edge to edge design from Three Sisters Fabric. It is the Baptist Fan and it goes together so smoothly. I love it and it has now become my favorite edge to edge that I have!

Well I am off to work on those list and conquering my to do’s! Have a great Monday friends!

Meadowland Quilt

Hello!

Don’t you just love Facebook memories! A year ago today I was out taking pictures of this Meadowland Quilt! The pattern is by Megan at Then Came June. This quilt is a nice size 64 X 64. I used colors of orange and turquoise patterns and it has been one of my favorite quilts. It was a lot of cutting and a lot of sewing but the quilt pattern is magnificent.

This quilt has been gently used. Mainly hanging on my quilt rack. It has been washed a few times but the coloring is still very pretty. I am over loaded with quilts right now and have decided to get rid of a lot of them. You can score this quilt for $125 plus shipping right now! Today! What?!?

The backing fabric is just as pretty as the front. Shades of orange and pink.

I choose to bind it in my favorite black and white stripe. I think the stripe just makes it look a little classy! If you are interested in this quilt please email us at lavenderfieldsblankets@gmail.com We will respond back to the first person and then send you a paypal address where you can send your money! And we will get the quilt out to you the next day!

Also if you are not following us on Facebook then please do! We are going to start doing give-aways for the holiday season. Your lucky cause the first one was suppose to be yesterday but I ended up in the doctors all morning and so it wasn’t started! New shoot date is for Friday! Follow us on Instagram at Lavenderfieldsco and on Facebook at Lavenderfieldsblankets.

I hope everyone has a great Humpday! The sun is shining here and we are just so grateful for that!

Sending positive vibes!
