Stella Star plus more!

Hello! Good Morning! Guess what? I made a quilt! It has been a while. But it was so much fun. This quilt pattern is the Stella Star. The star parts are paper pieced. First time I have done paper piecing and it was so much fun! I am ready to do it again! If you have not tried it I would start out on this pattern. Jenna explains so well in her pattern how to do it. I also found a really good YouTube video that helped me a lot. I will link it here! If you have been quilting a while you will love this. It is something new to learn and it kind of feels like you have leveled up! You know what I mean?

I chose all neutrals for this quilt. I love how all the soft colors turned out. I think the only thing I would change is the color of the star outline. But other than that I am pretty happy with the choices. I used Marmalade as the edge to edge design and added my binding on the back and brought it around the front like I do and machine stitched it down. I love doing it that way. Gives the front of the quilt such a perfect look! What do you think?

I worked on this Meadowland Quilt this weekend. What beautiful fabrics! It is the second one I have done for Mary and she always picks the best fabrics. They always have animals in them. The first one you can find on here she used a Birch Fabric and they were all birds. It was adorable. Kind of makes it hard to send the quilts back. She chose the edge to edge design Flicker Flame. I think it turned out perfect!

I worked on this Christmas Joy quilt that was sent in also. Is it not so pretty? And that backing fabric was flannel and so nostalgic. She chose the edge to edge pattern Loop D Loop and I just love it. It is similar to Midnight Sparkle. Just a lot more sparkle! I will defiantly be using this one again!

I hope you have a great day where ever you are. It is starting to cool off here and yesterday the wind was blowing in a cold front. The leaves were blowing everywhere and the sun shining on the trees was just breath taking with all the beautiful fall colors! It is a blessing being in an area where the seasons are a big change. But my heart is still in Tampa Florida. I fell in love with Clear Water Beach and that area when i went down there this summer. I dream of a condo on the beach. Where I can see the ocean and hear it. I can sew and people watch and maybe makes some friends through the window. We can dream right?!

Ok still dreaming of Florida but getting off of here now so I can get to work. I have a Knitted Star quilt I am going to be working on, it is a Christmas Gift so I will not be posting pictures until after Christmas. Have a great day!

Kayaking fun

Hello Sweet Friends! I hope this finds you doing well. I have had the best time with my son home from Pennsylvania. Yesterday we went Kayaking out at the Glendale State Wildlife Preserve. The skies are filled with smoke from the fires out west. It gives this curtain feeling. You know the sun is there but you can’t see it from the blanket of smoke. My heart hurts from the fires and all the terrible things going on in our world right now. This week of taking off work and doing things to distract me from the news and reality has been a God send. Today we are taking off and going to the Fire Tower that is close to us and climbing to the top of it. Another thing that we enjoy doing together!

I have had a few quilts on the longarm since he has been here. And we had our big show at the Chandelier Barn Market this past weekend. We took our quilts that I have been working on over the year. It went really well and I am so thankful for that. We are part of their Christmas show this year too so starting next week I will be working like crazy to get ready for that. I decided I am taking all neutral quilts this time as I really love neutrals and I really want to get to where my quilts are distinguishable from the client quilts I work on. Now to decide what to do with all the colored fabric I have. I guess I will slowly start when winter gets here of putting them into bundles and getting them on Etsy!

Well I hope this finds you doing well. A quick reminder that as of right now we are 2 weeks out on our longarm quilting. So if you are wanting to get a quilt done and back fast get your request in!

Until next time!

Client Quilt 135

Hello Friends! Check out this beautiful Meadowland quilt I got to work on that was pieced by Jane. The fabrics are so pretty. Jane chose the edge to edge Triple Clamshell by Karlee Porter Designs.

Isn’t that backing just adorable too. I really never use the color yellow but this is making me change my mind!

I hope all is well in your neck of the woods. I have been busy and while I’ve been busy I have been taking a class from Jenna Kutcher and listening to her podcast. She gives really good solid advice for small business owners. Check her out! What are some of your favorite podcasts? Let me know so I can check them out!

Till next time

Meadowland Quilt

Hello Friends!

I just wanted to share this beautiful Meadowland Quilt that I had the opportunity to quilt. The fabrics are beautiful Birch Organics and Charley Harper Fabrics. They are so sweet on this perfect quilt. I used Clamshell Triple by Karlee Porter Designs and it added just the right amount of texture! This was a hard quilt to send back. I think I just have always loved the Meadowland pattern by Then Came June and the fabrics used in this one had me all mellow and filled with little bird peace!

I hope you have a great 4th of July weekend and a safe one! We are going to be cooking out at home. Sitting in the pool. And spending time with good friends!

Colors of Neutral

Yes! It is strange. But I do occasionally make a quilt in neutral colors. And you know what? I love it! It actually exceeded my expectation by a million. The Meadowland Quilt pattern is by Megan at Then Came June. Her patterns are always full of color and so pretty!

I used neutral pattern in black, white, and beige. I used a solid kona cotton color in tan.

Just coming off the Longarm. I longarm quilted it with a pattern from Three Sisters Fabric called Baptist Fan.

The backing is a soft gray pattern and you can really see the edge to edge design on it.

This quilt will add a beautiful touch to any modern home. The colors will actually do well in any decor style with it’s neutral palette. The quilts measures 64 X 80 and is listed on Etsy right here! If you like this quilt I am getting ready to do another one and you can pick out your color scheme, just shoot us an email @ lavenderfieldsblankets@gmail.com or send us a message on the contact page here on the website!

I hope you all are having a good Wednesday and that life is treating you kindly. Around here we are just so grateful for everyday that is good and for everyday that brings challenges. God is good all the time!

Love

Lisa
